If you prefer an extra layer of protection, using a dryer on high heat can help kill any potential residual bacteria.

Should Reusable Masks be Washed Before Use?

A new mask needs a great cleaning before it can be worn. It’s easy to machine-wash masks if you have an appliance, but if not keeping it clean is easy too. Simply clean the mask by hand with warm water and use a mild detergent, unscented soap.

How To Properly Wear a Face Mask?

Wash your hands before and after touching medical grade masks, N95 masks or reusable masks. Take care when putting on and removing and dispose of it properly. It should fit snugly over your nose, mouth and chin to make sure you are protected from germs. If you adjust the mask to protect those areas then wash your hands again each time!  

Make sure you can breathe calmly through your non-medical mask, even though it will be uncomfortable for a short period of time.

Wash reusable masks after each use or purchase a pack of new masks when necessary. Discard disposable masks when visibly soiled or damaged as per package instructions.
